Nemesis can do classic digital synthesis methods as well as a new approach called 'NeoFM'. NeoFM is more powerful and easier to program than traditional FM. It offers superior sound quality. A warm and creamy signature-sound is generated by its engine.
Key Features
Sounds and synthesis
Nemesis is a powerful synthesizer with a vast sound library created by professional designers. It offers a unique silky signature sound, capable of producing a wide range of tones from warm and smooth to classic metallic FM synthesis sounds. Nemesis supports numerous digital synthesis methods, including Neo-FM, true FM synthesis, phase modulation, waveshaping, additive synthesis, phase-distortion, formant synthesis, crossblending waveforms, PWM, ring modulation, waveform resynthesis, and resonance. Users can also import their own content, providing endless sonic possibilities. It features multiple play modes, including polyphonic, mono, legato, and true 4x stereo unison.
Neo-FM: The future of FM Synthesis
Neo-FM is not just a marketing buzzword. Nemesis heralds the next evolutionary step in FM synthesis: Neo-FM Synthesis
Nemesis synthesizer blends the benefits of digital and analog synthesis while avoiding their drawbacks. Traditional digital FM/PM synths can suffer from aliasing, leading to unpleasant, metallic sounds at high pitches. Analog synths, while free from aliasing, can produce dissonant sidebands due to slight oscillator drift. Nemesis overcomes these issues with its NeoFM approach, combining the best aspects of both technologies.
Unlike older FM synths like the DX7, which are limited to sine waves and simple waveforms to mask aliasing, Nemesis supports a wide range of waveforms, including custom .wav files. This flexibility allows for deeper FM modulation and a broader sonic range without the aliasing problems found in other synths.
Additionally, Nemesis achieves superior sound quality with 70,000x oversampling, compared to competitors that use 2x or 4x oversampling. Despite this high-quality output, Nemesis maintains low CPU usage through advanced techniques such as multi-core processing and DSP optimizations.
Effects: There are 48 high-quality effects available that can be combined with each other. Flexible routing options complete the extensive effects section. The innovative ducking-module makes your mix more transparent and rich by dynamically fading out reverb-tails. Nemesis offers smart-micro-tuning, which automatically analyzes the notes played to improve the sound of chords. It 'just works' - you do not need to take care of anything. An optional psychoacoustic module gives your tracks more kick and volume. Nemesis has a gate section for creating rhythmic patterns. Extended functions such as contour, fading, swing and shuffle allow you to fine-tune the sounds perfectly.
Arpeggiator: The arpeggiator in Nemesis is inspiring, powerful and easy to use. Just select your notes inside the note sequencer as you normally would and choose the play direction. The arpeggiator also supports optional advanced features such as auto-chords, polyphonic playback, glides, swing or matrix integration.
Modulation: By using drag & drop or the matrix, Nemesis allows you to connect dozens of modulation sources to sound parameters. Modulate almost any parameter up into the audio-rate speed, from internal modulation sources like the LFOs, to a wide variety of MIDI messages. They've also included midi-learn, so assigning CC's is as simple as a right-click.
