Description

Harness the power of lookahead to control and tame even the unruliest peaks. The Harrison Lookahead Compressor uses a feed-forward design with built-in signal preview to deliver sub-millisecond attack times that no ‘standard’ compressor can match. Its “Zero-History” release keeps dynamics transparent and artifact-free, giving you instant peak taming, crystal-clear punch, expanded headroom, and surgical precision on everything from aggressive acoustic guitar tracks, snappy drum hits to final masters.

Place it on individual mics to lock in levels, sculpt loops and maximise synth parts in production. Glue drum buses and tame vocal spikes in mixing, or finalize masters with a fast, light touch that never misses a peak, with Harrison Lookahead Compressor.

KEY FEATURES

  • Lookahead Feed-Forward Engine Anticipates transients via a brief delay for sub-millisecond attack and release, delivering pinpoint peak control without distortion or pumping.
  • Zero-History Release Instantly resets gain-reduction history for transparent, artifact-free dynamics—even on highly variable sources like acoustic guitar.
  • Clean Signal Path Coloration-free circuitry preserves the natural tone of vocals, guitars, drums, and full mixes.
  • Channel Configurations Mono, Stereo.
  • Intuitive Controls Threshold, Ratio, Knee, Makeup Gain, Attack, and Release knobs provide fast, precise parameter adjustments.
  • Input Meter: Real-time display of incoming signal level for accurate threshold setting.
  • Reduction Meter VU-style meter showing the amount of gain reduction applied.
  • Output Meter: Monitor the processed signal level to align your output gain staging.

    The Invisible Peak Tamer

If you need surgical, invisible peak control without changing the natural timbre of your source material, the Harrison Lookahead Compressor is a reliable workhorse. It doesn't offer the punch of a VCA or the saturation of an Opto/Tube unit, but it excels at transparently leveling out troublesome, highly dynamic tracks. A solid, hassle-free utility plugin for mix and mastering duties.

it was better than I expected lol

I'm a Harrison fan, so while thinking “I wish I stopped,” I bought it as a collection without expecting functionality or sound due to the price of

$15 (well, it's super cheap and expensive in modern Japan), but I'm surprised that it's so easy to use.

Since the operation system is very simple, it also saves time.

The sound is also a bit different from other comps.

There's no feeling of being gutsy like the FET system, but that doesn't mean that kind of feel doesn't come out, and it feels like elegance remains even when

    you put on a lot.

2,500 yen in Japanese yen translation.

Maybe it was a pretty good purchase.

If you are in the dollar/euro area, wages are probably going up, so I think the cost performance is even better

    .
