Description

V12 Chorus is a powerful unit, that combines classic-sounding modulation with modern-day audio processing tools to help you explore new and unknown territories in sound design and music production.

V12 is a powerful effects processor equipped with a Voicing generator, capable of producing up to 12 different voicings based on the source material. The time between each voicing as well as their tuning and number of repeats can be separately controlled allowing for extended sound-sculpting potential. The unit features a unique Colorize frequency filter with a Color Shifter function ensuring the desired effect will sit well in any mix. The Space function, however, will allow you to completely augment the spatial positioning of the delayed voicings by changing their placements in relation to the filters.

Once  the desired amount of voicings and their tone is established, the Humanize engine can introduce controlled randomization, which can subtly mimic human-like behavior or result in total sonic chaos, when used at its most extreme. V12 Chorus is suited for fine-tuning the source material but for darker and uncommon sound design projects and experimental music production.

    Versatile and rich

At first I was a little scared of the seemingly too many controls. I usually want stuff that sounds beautifully out of the box, I quickly find the tone that I like, and that's it. I don't like stuff that i need to tweak to make it sound good, before even going in personalizing the tone.

But it's a lot easier to set up than I thought. The effects of each control are sonically obvious, so you don't have to spend too much time wondering.

I chose it cause it's very open - I also want the BBD for a classic, richer chorus - I wanted to use it on basses without muddying them up or darkening them too much - and it does the job - but it's open without the metallic sound of some choruses. And while staying open and clean it can sound pretty deep and rich, if you want to, without the patina of an analog, though, at its default settings.

But, if you want to, you can "analogize" it quite a bit using the coloration control. Not as much as some of the legendary units, but significantly. So it can do the rich, darker effects, suitable for a guitar that otherwise risks sounding too bright. And the shifter allows you to focus that coloration, frequency wise. So, for a clean, less muddy, but still rich and versatile chorus, it's a great choice. It doesn't do the density and darkness of some classics, but even at that it can do quite a lot. It's gonna be my go to for vibrant choruses on signal that I don't want darkened or muddied. But it can fit well even on tracks where you'd normally go for a…
