In a string quartet, the second violin plays a crucial role – not as a shadow of the first, but as an equal voice with its own personality, color, and musical responsibility. Synchron Solo Violin 2 captures this unique character in a beautifully expressive virtual instrument that stands proudly alongside its sibling, Synchron Solo Violin 1. Performed by a different artist on a different instrument, it brings a contrasting tone and feel to Synchron Solo Strings, with new expressive dynamics and tonal variety. Recorded on the grand Stage A of Vienna Synchron Stage, this solo violin offers exceptional flexibility – perfect for dialog between instruments, layered expression, or simply adding a new voice to your musical storytelling.
Meet the Virtuoso
Synchron Solo Violin 2 features exceptional performances by Damir Oraščanin, a regular concertmaster of the Vienna Synchron Orchestra since 2020. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, he studied both in his hometown and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. A prizewinner at numerous international competitions, Damir has performed in major concert halls around the world and appeared frequently as a soloist. As a collaborator with the Vienna Philharmonic, he has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician at the renowned Vienna Musikverein. He also earned positions with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Vienna Volksoper, where he has been serving as first violin tutti since 2015.
Deeply Articulated
With unwavering focus and artistry, Damir Oraščanin shaped every note of the extensive sampling sessions in the large hall of Vienna Synchron Stage – resulting in an exceptionally detailed and expressive collection of articulations. Short notes include a variety of spiccatos, staccatos, détachés, ricochet, and saltando. Long notes come with various vibrato styles, different attacks and releases as well as various slides. Legato variants include normal, agile, slurred, portamento, and lyrical styles. Playing techniques such as sforzato, several crescendos and diminuendos, tremolos, trills, harmonics, pizzicatos and col legno add a host of styles, tonal colors and dynamic nuances to the expressive possibilities of this virtual instrument.
