Addictive Drums 2 has become an essential part of my production workflow. The Custom Collection is a great entry point — being able to pick and choose the specific ADpaks, MIDIpaks, and Kitpieces that suit your genre means you're not paying for sounds you'll never use.

The sound quality is fantastic out of the box. The drums sit well in a mix with minimal processing, and the built-in effects chain (transient shaper, compressor, EQ, etc.) on each channel gives you plenty of control without ever leaving the plugin. The tone **** alone saves a surprising amount of time when shaping kit pieces to fit a track.

The MIDI drag-and-drop feature is incredibly useful for quickly sketching out patterns, and the built-in MIDI transforms like power hand and humanize add a lot of life to programmed beats. Even if you end up replacing or layering the sounds later, it's a great tool for getting ideas down fast.

One minor gripe — the browser could be more intuitive when managing presets across multiple ADpaks. But once you get your favorites organized, it's smooth sailing.

If you produce any genre that calls for realistic or processed acoustic drums — whether it's rock, pop, electronic, or anything hybrid — Addictive Drums 2 delivers. Highly recommended.
