      Pretty Little Pony

      The review title says it all: It is cute and fun but small - no serious workhorse of an update. If you are a serious musician/Kontakt user, you have doubtless already read the multitude of K8 Update reviews. It provides a few workflow changes, some of which are genuine improvements - some with changes that add additional workflow steps (and crashes in my Cubase 14 experience).

      If you are seriously "creatively challenged" you may enjoy the added "Pony Glitter" tools. They are largely "lite" versions of other developer's existing products. In the cut-and-paste/AI-generated/"Hey Mom, look what I made with SUNO" world, there is a rush to get a slice of the pie from the pockets of a musically challenged public. Sorry to see Kontakt's creators focusing their talents in the current direction they have chosen.

      Kontakt 8 Update - Worth Every Penny!

      Upgraded from Kontakt 7 to 8 and I'm blown away! This update brought exactly what I needed for my workflow.

      Performance is noticeably faster, even on my older rig with 32GB RAM. The new interface is sleek and modern SYNTH ANATOMYNative Instruments - everything loads quicker and runs smoother than K7.

      The new Tools section is a game-changer - Chords Tool lets you create full chord progressions with one key press, Phrases generates melodic ideas instantly Native Instruments Kontakt 8: free update 8.6 adds six new MIDI tools - SYNTH ANATOMY +2, and the Arpeggiator adds rhythmic sequences that you can fully customize SYNTH ANATOMYVI-CONTROL. Chord Builder allows you to design custom chord stacks SYNTH ANATOMYVI-CONTROL - super useful for creating unique voicings.

      New additions like Humanizer, Scale Lock, and Velocity Curve give you even more control over your MIDI VI-CONTROL. The Patterns Tool (polyphonic step arpeggiator) is fantastic for creating evolving melodies SYNTH ANATOMY.

      Best part? You can drag generated MIDI straight into your DAW Native Instruments for further editing. This saves massive amounts of time when sketching ideas.

      Add some things I like such as audio auditioning and links to suitable libraries. but also things like composing aids/loops and Rhythms I don't need as I prefer to compose the parts myself....
