The official Jensen IR library based on the “Tornado Special Edition” N12/100 TR SE 100W Ceramic speaker.
The Tornado Special Edition Neodymium speaker features a unique voicing in the Tornado range. It is designed for the most contemporary music styles, with a special focus on the lead and high-gain tones. The bass range is tight and powerful, as the special treatment on the surrounds shifts a portion of the energy from the sub-bass to the lower midrange for a richer, full-bodied tone. A well-contoured presence zone, clear and defined, cuts through the mix with ease, while the top end allows just the right amount of air and openness. The frequency curve in the extreme treble range is tailored by the large-size dust cap, to smoothly roll off any potential artifact and excessive harmonics build-up that some high-gain setups may generate.
High dynamics is the name of the game for the Tornado SE, thanks to the generous 2” voice coil and the powerful yet feather-light Neodymium magnet.
In this library, the speaker has been captured on three different enclosure configurations:
Made For The Supercabinet
The library is created for the TH-U Supercabinet, which allows to:
Fluid IRs Explained
Fluid IRs are an advanced form of impulse responses that encapsulate more detailed sonic characteristics compared to traditional IRs. Unlike regular IRs that merely mimic a speaker's frequency response, Fluid IRs also reproduce the speaker's dynamic behavior and harmonics. This enhancement delivers a tone that is more robust, lifelike, and direct, with better management of the bass frequencies.
As of version 1.4.26, all cabinets in TH-U and all of the SuperCabinet libraries have been upgraded to include Fluid IRs, which are provided to users as a free update.
Additionally, users have the option to upload their own conventional IRs into TH-U, taking advantage of Overloud's proprietary Fluid IR technology. This technology utilizes an AI algorithm trained to transform your IRs by recreating their dynamic and harmonic responses.
Specifications
The library includes 912 Fluid IRs. The microphones used during the capturing session are:
Every microphone has been moved to 4 different horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge), two distances and two angles, for a total of 16 IRs each. All the measurement sets have been repeated for each one of the cabinets in the library. All IRs have been phase-aligned and they can be blended without phase cancellations.
