The Overloud Gem Comp160 is a revolutionary emulation of three distinct versions of the legendary 160 VCA compressor — faithfully capturing each versions distinct tone, response, and character.

VU - The original version delivering a rich, punchy analog character with the unmistakable feel that made the 160 a studio staple. With VU-style metering and a classic control layout, this is the father of all VCA compressors.

XT - Warmer and more harmonically dense, with enhanced low-frequency presence and a fuller bottom end. The XT Version offers a smoother, more versatile tone compared to the VU. It delivers a richer low end and a great harmonic structure, thanks to the optional transformer installed in the reference model. The XT version also features the Overeasy control, that enables the soft-knee compression curve.

A - The A version is a more modern and transparent evolution of the 160, featuring a slightly faster response time and tighter control. Its snappy attack parameter is useful for taming sharp transients. The A version also has a cleaner sound and wider frequency response, making this version ideal for a variety of applications.
