WIDEis an advanced plug-in for stereo image widening and mono-to-stereo upmixing - 100% mono-compatible, if desired. Built using our patented* sample accurate spectral processing technology in combination with state-of-the-art resynthesis and feature extraction instead of the traditional methods, WIDE provides four unique new algorithms, three stereo-to-stereo, and one mono-to-stereo. WIDE is not your traditional M/S processor...at all. Built on our patented sample accurate spectral transform, it uses feature extraction to extract time/frequency sound components suitable for image widening from your input signal, while leaving the original audio untouched. The process then modifies the extracted patterns, or generates new, similar content using resynthesis...and distributes the result across the stereo field.

Enough lab-coat-speak: WIDE uses high-tech techniques for 100% mono compatibility, less artifacts and coloration, and a stunningly detailed stereo image...even when upmixing from mono to stereo!

100% Mono Compatible

As WIDE generates the audio content used for the widening effect, we have full control over what is generated. By default, the components WIDE adds do not cancel out, or even partially phase, when the plug-in output is folded down to mono, resulting in a mono signal that retains all the detail you so carefully crafted. That said, we love flexibility, so you can choose to have the effect disappear in mono, with the click of a button. Of course a switch is provided for quickly checking the mono mixdown.

Frequency Dependent Width, Zynaptiq-Easy

Want a little more width in the mid range, the bass frequencies turned to mono, while not touching the treble? No problem at all. The main WIDTH control can go negative, narrowing the stereo image rather than widening it, right down to mono, and our trademark BIAS functionality handles the frequency dependency quickly, easily and with precision. Select a preset BIAS Curve using our classic hover menu, or roll your own using an intuitive graphic EQ style set of sliders, and adjust the amount... and you're all set, pretty much instantly.
