HISTORY
Massive is one of Native Instruments- biggest brands, and one of the most successful synthesizers of all time. The original MASSIVE, having helped define the sound of modern genres such as dubstep and EDM, became synonymous with an exciting, forward-thinking approach to synthesis that unapologetically embraced its digital DNA.

Now, after 12 years, we-ve created its successor - Massive X. Designed and built from scratch, the new instrument builds on its heritage to rethink and redefine the possibilities of a virtual synth. We-re confident that it will help define the next 10 years of sound, as its predecessor did with the last 10 years.

Artists known for using Massive include:
Ellie Goulding, Deadmau5, Modeselektor, Diplo, Herbie Han- cock, M.E.S.H., Last Japan, Shapednoise, Endgame, Richard Devine, Barnt

PRODUCT
MASSIVE X is Native Instruments- new flagship synth, built by the same team as its predecessor. It delivers pristine sound, and huge creative flexibility for artists and sound designers alike - allowing them to create, modulate, and experiment with sound from a huge range of sources, in any way they like.

THE FUTURE OF MASSIVE X
MASSIVE X has been designed and built to enable flexibility development into the future. Following on from its release, MASSIVE X will see library updates, new features, and expan- sions.

AT A GLANCE
The instrument is designed around newly-built DSP block mod- ules, meaning the sound is truly state of the art, and that we can add new modules and features on a regular basis. Massive X will have preset and audio expansions added frequently - created by NI sound designers as well as external partners.

The top half is where most of the sound generation and shap- ing takes place, with dual wavetable oscillators, a dual noise module, the filter module, Insert FX, and the Stereo FX.

In the lower half you-ll find voicing and routing, as well as MASSIVE X-s modulation sources - Performers, envelopes and LFOs, Trackers, and the Voice Randomization.

Features:

  • Built around a dual oscillator section with more than 170 wavetables
  • 10 different wavetable modes offer different playback styles
  • 2 phase-modulation oscillators inject tension and movement into the main oscillators
  • Insert noise from myriad natural and synthetic sources
  • 9 filter types let you warp frequencies to your heart-s content
  • 3 Performers let you paint precise patterns of modulation and assign them to different parameters
  • 4 Tracker mod sources enable you to modulate parameters depending on which note you play
  • Insert up to 3 effects anywhere within your signal chain, plus Stereo FX on your output
  • Voice section provides deep access to a super-powerful synth engine
  • Simple drag-and-drop routing from any output to any input
  • Switchable skins range from stunning eye candy to CPU-friendly flat modes
  • Resizable interface scales the plug-in to fit your workflow
