The voices of the Vienna Synchron Choir and the “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” children’s choir bring a powerful, emotional dimension to the Big Bang Orchestra – a sound that embodies human warmth, spiritual depth, and cinematic grandeur. From whispered harmonies to triumphant tuttis, these performances elevate any production with life, color, and expressive resonance.

Enhanced by our new Flow View for intuitive browsing and an uninterrupted creative workflow, this comprehensive collection provides effortless access to a universe of choral expression – from intimate textures to awe-inspiring massed voices.

Tutti and SATB Choirs

Choirs have always been a timeless symbol of emotion and power in music – and the Vienna Synchron Choir captures that essence with unmatched clarity and precision. Drawing from their experience for major film and game soundtracks, these singers deliver expressive, cinematic performances in a refined modern style with controlled vibrato and clear diction.

The Tutti and SATB patches include individual sections – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass – as well as several pre-configured tutti combinations designed for instant inspiration:

• Tutti Choir: All four sections layered into one mighty, unified sound.
• Male/Female: Male voices mapped to the lower octaves, female voices to the upper octaves of the keyboard.
• Choir Stacked: Sections arranged naturally from low to high, preserving authentic vocal ranges.
• Tutti Effects: Major and minor chords, clusters, cluster glissandos, cluster builds, and powerful shouts – corresponding to the “Clusters A and B” in BBO Tutti, for perfectly matched orchestral-choral textures.

A broad range of articulations – including staccato, sustain, espressivo, real legato, sforzato, and dynamic swells – ensures total flexibility, whether you’re creating subtle vocal layers or epic choral climaxes. The result is a deeply expressive sound that blends effortlessly with the rest of the Big Bang Orchestra for breathtakingly cinematic performances.

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir recordings feature the internationally acclaimed Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen, one of Austria’s most celebrated youth choirs with over 70 years of history. Having performed with luminaries such as Leonard Bernstein, Sir Georg Solti, Claudio Abbado, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Charles Aznavour and appearing on film scores including Lego Batman, Made in Abyss 3, and Christmas Chronicles, these young voices bring both joy and professionalism to every performance.

Twenty-four singers aged 8 to 14 filled Stage A with radiant energy, performing with focus, discipline, and genuine musicality. Their sound – bright, transparent, and ethereal – adds a layer of innocence and emotional purity that perfectly complements the grandeur of the adult choir.

The children performed sustains and legatos on vowels AA and UU, as well as humming (MM), with additional attack consonants L, B, and N to shape natural syllabic phrasing. The result is a beautifully playable collection that brings warmth, light, and angelic radiance to your orchestral writing – the unmistakable sound of youthful voices resonating in Vienna’s iconic scoring stage.

Stereo Decca Tree Presets

The "Decca tree" is the microphone tree that is the heart and soul of every orchestral recording. It consists of a main stereo channel and a mono center channel and captures the details of the room from the conductor’s perspective.

Surround to Stereo Presets

Enjoy the massive sound of all available room microphones, including the decca tree mics, down-mixed to a stereo signal. You will get a great impression of the huge sound our Synchron Stage Vienna is known for.
