THE ULTIMATE POP MACHINE
Unveil the magic behind the world's most beloved songs with our brand new synth collection – ICONIC. Programmed by the synth mastermind behind Michael Jackson's Thriller, ICONIC celebrates the synths and keys that shaped the soundtracks of our lives. Sampling rare synthesizers like the ARP 2600, Minimoog Model D, Oberheim OB-X, Sequential Prophet 5, Yamaha CS-80 and the Synclavier II, we have skillfully recreated some of the most iconic sounds in music history and turned them into playable instruments, supercharged with incredible new features that will allow you to transform these historic sounds into modern masterpieces.
Classic Synth Design Modernized For A New Era
ICONIC’s user interface centers around an XY Pad with 4 selectable Macro Effects that modulate multiple parameters simultaneously. Blending a vintage knob-per-function design, with sleek modern styling, all of ICONIC’s controls are easily accessible in a single page. Shape these ICONIC synth sounds from the dual filters that can be modulated, an advanced 16-step arpeggiator, multi-mode portamento (glide), and a bevy of effects to widen, pulse, distort, delay, and spatialize the final sound.
Classic Sounds Reimagined For The Future
While ICONIC features synths and sounds used in classic songs that have sold hundreds of millions of copies, it's not stuck in any time period. After recording these rare synthesizers in EastWest Studio 1, the producers also sent the sounds to analog tape machines (include a tube Studer J37) and pushed them to levels to create tape saturation and harmonic distortion for an alternative modern sound. The instruments were also re-amped into EastWest Studio 2, using multiple mic positions so the studio sound could be added to the direct sounds, a technique that was often used by Thriller recording and mixing engineer Bruce Swedien.

Step beyond the conventions of traditional hip hop and EDM toolkits into a world where dark, gritty textures and edgy, distorted sounds meet modern production. LO-FI is designed for producers who seek bold new territory beyond the clean and polished—diving into a world of intentional imperfection and extreme processing. By creatively reshaping sound through pitch shifting, distortion, and degradation, we’ve transformed everything from synths and keys to orchestral textures and guitars into dynamic, expressive instruments. Whether crafting hip-hop beats, atmospheric soundtracks, or experimental electronic music, these sounds provide the raw energy and depth to inspire new sonic frontiers.
LO-FI’s user interface centers around an XY Pad with 4 selectable Macro Effects that change multiple parameters simultaneously. Blending a vintage knob-per-function design with sleek modern styling, all of LO-FI’s controls are easily accessible in a single page - from dual filters that can be modulated to an advanced 16-step arpeggiator, a multi-mode portamento (glide), and a bevy of effects to widen, pulse, distort, delay, and spatialize the final sound.
From the very start, the producers set out to craft something raw and untamed for the modern producer and composer, going far beyond the clean confines of typical libraries. The producers dove deep into sonic experimentation—warping every sound with pitch shifts, bit crushing, and amp distortion—to create a gritty, one-of-a-kind palette spanning hip-hop, electronic, soundtracks, and more. From growling basses to mangled orchestral stabs, each instrument reflects relentless processing, with versatile categories like warped guitars and eerie textures, plus a suite of FX to shape or amplify the chaos. This is a production toolkit with a bold, unfiltered edge—distorted, unpredictable, and built to inspire.
BASS
Drive the foundation of any modern production with the uncompromising presence of these low-end powerhouses. From menacing, distorted bass synths to gritty, speaker-rattling subs, these sounds are crafted for maximum impact.
DRUMS & PERCUSSION
Creatively processed drum kits transformed into new sonic territories by meticulously distorting and mangling each element with unique character. Energize your tracks with crunchy 808s, fractured snares, and glitched-out percussion.
GUITARS
Heavily processed guitars venture into new territory that go beyond the traditional, all the while maintaining their plucked string character. Offers distorted electric riffs, bit-crushed strums, and degraded chord layers for a rebellious edge in any mix.
KEYS & SYNTHS
Cutting-edge sound design brings these synths, keys, and pianos into the modern realm, many of which feature stacked harmonies on a single note for instant inspiration. Includes detuned analog synths, degraded electric pianos, and glitchy harmonic stacks that deliver instant inspiration.
LEADS
Bold and distinctive, these edgy, distorted leads will cut through any mix. Many feature rhythmic LFO modulation or arpeggiation to create dynamic motion. Includes searing distorted lines, pulsating leads, and aggressive, overdriven synths.
ORCHESTRAL
Bridge the boundaries of classic orchestration and modern production with these fresh cross-genre instruments, many of which feature stacked sounds transposed across the keyboard to create vinyl-like samples. Expect fractured strings, degraded brass, and haunting woodwind textures that deliver cinematic depths with a dark twist.
TEXTURES
Evocative atmospheres that add depth and character to any production, breathing life into music with a range of textural ambiences from degraded noise washes, to warped environmental tones.
VOCALS
A futuristic lens takes these vocal instruments to reimagined heights, warping and processing them to create entirely new sonic possibilities. Contains glitchy vocal chops, pitch-shifted harmonies, and haunting vocal pads that add an uncanny edge to your tracks.
This isn’t just another hip-hop/EDM collection—it’s a transformative tool for producers craving something beyond the predictable. Packed with gritty, distorted, and reimagined sounds, it breaks genre norms with a fresh sonic palette. Each instrument, from punchy basses to warped vocals, is pushed to its limits to spark creativity and inspire new musical directions. If you’re ready to ditch the ordinary, this essential library is your foundation for a bold breakthrough.
Paying homage to the great vintage string synthesizers of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, EastWest's String Machine virtual instrument brings the past into the future. Produced by sound titans Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, String Machine includes samples from some of the greats - the Arp Solina, Oberheim OBX, Roland RS-505, and the Roland Jupiter 6 - and allows you to instantly combine them with modern strings, brass, woodwinds, and vocals to create unique vintage vibes perfect for your next pop, rock, or hip-hop masterpiece.
String Machine-s user interface takes inspiration from the design of vintage string machine synthesizers. From the chunky instrument switches adorned along the front panel, to the glide of envelope sliders, and the click of push buttons, String Machine-s form and function is informed by the original hardware units.
String Machines were well known for their ensemble chorus effects, and the one included in String Machine features 3 modes, each with distinct characteristics. With effect emulations modeled from the Arp Solina, and Roland VP-330 hardware units, along with a -Modern- mode, our Ensemble Chorus effect delivers everything from vintage warmth and thickness, to modern transparency and dimension.
String Machine-s use is flexible, owing to its hybrid design of electronic and acoustic instruments. It fits right at home in a variety of genres, electronic or otherwise, but especially suitable for genres heavy on retro nostalgia, like chillwave or pop. Any piece of music that needs a large ensemble string pad would benefit by using String Machine.
INSTRUMENT GROUPS
String Machine features 4 color-coded instrument sections, including string machines and pads (red), string sections (green), solo woodwinds and brass (teal), and choirs and solo vocals (orange). Each instrument section features a number of instruments and alternatives, giving you countless ways to combine them into a diverse range of timbres, and the ease of mixing the individual instrument sections together to create rich, multi-layered pads.
PRESETS
String Machine comes with 17 presets programmed by Nick Phoenix. These presets demonstrate the type of sounds possible with String Machine, but we encourage you to use String Machine as it was intended -- creating your own presets!
With high-quality sampling of vintage hardware units and authentic ensemble chorus emulations, String Machine is the perfect companion to recreate the classic sounds of vintage string machine synthesizers, and much more. Whether you need a synthy string pad heavy with retro nostalgia, or a rich backdrop for a pop track, String Machine gives you the instruments and controls that empower you to deliver.
