Pitch Error Effects, with a New Level of Control

LoFi Pitch Dropout adds character with subtle to strong pitch errors. Imagine a tape in an old playback system getting stuck and then speeding up again to catch up, adding a nice and subtle flux to the pitch of your signal. Pitch Dropout allows you to do this randomly, ranging in frequency from very rarely to extremely often, or even controlled precisely through the Dropout button, which you can automate to sync to your beat. LoFi Pitch Dropout lets you add an extra layer of character to your sounds.

LoFi Pitch Dropout offers six distinct modes: Cassette Flux, Heavy Drop, Droplets, Broken VHS, Vintage Player, and Pyramid. Each mode emulates a unique type of pitch degradation, reminiscent of various old playback machines and damaged tapes. This variety of effects, combined with the ability to fine-tune their behavior, provides a vast array of mesmerizing results. Whether you're aiming for subtle, nostalgic nuances or extreme, time-warped distortions, LoFi Pitch Dropout allows you to create sounds that evoke a sense of stepping back in time.

Dropout

• Changing the Amount of control from 0% to 100% will increase or decrease the strength of the dropouts.
• The visualizer display in the middle of the plug-in gives you exact feedback on what the virtual tapes inside the circuit are doing.
• When the Channel Selector is set to mono, dropouts will happen the same way on both channels. With the Channel Selector set to stereo, the dropouts happen individually for left and right channel - creating a wider listening effect.

Pitch Dropout features six different modes; each will give the dropouts a different shape and chance behavior: Cassette Flux, Heavy Drop, Droplets, Broken VHS, Vintage Player, and Pyramid.

The Ghost of a Chance

• The Chance slider allows you to tweak this algorithm and therefore define how often the dropouts are happening. When Chance is set to a low value dropouts will happen less often - the further you increase Chance the more likely it is that dropouts will happen.
• Click the Dropout button to immediately trigger the effect. You can also automate this control and use it to trigger the effect in a controlled manner. Set Chance to 0% and sync the effects to your track with this instead.
