Description

Broadcast Production Collection Sonnox Broadcast is a collection of powerful Oxford plug-ins which provide high-quality processing and precision control for broadcast production. Including the renowned Oxford EQ and Dynamics plug-ins, the popular Inflator for maximizing loudness, the preset-packed Oxford Limiter and the SuprEsser for fixing problematic frequencies - Sonnox Broadcast will dramatically improve the quality of virtually any program. Bundle contains: Oxford EQ, Oxford Dynamics, Oxford Inflator, Oxford Limiter and Oxford SuprEsser Oxford EQ The Oxford EQ is based on the EQ section of the Sony OXF-R3. It is a 5-band plug-in with selectable shelf settings on LF and HF sections. Additionally, separate variable slope low pass and high pass filters are provided. The Oxford EQ also features 4 different selectable EQ types that cover most of the EQ styles currently popular amongst professional users, including some legacy styles which are renowned for their artistic capability. The use of novel coefficient generation and intelligent processing design provides unparalleled performance that surpasses analogue EQ in both sound quality and artistic freedom. This plug-in may well provide all the EQ you ever needed. Oxford Dynamics The Oxford Dynamics plug-in is a highly sophisticated device with comprehensive control of many parameters. Therefore, to aid operation, there is separate page of controls for each process, since it would not be feasible to have all controls and displays available on a single page.  Although there are four gain level controlling processes, Gate, Expander, Compressor and Limiter in the mono and stereo plug-ins, their control signals are all derived from a single side-chain detector, operating on a single gain control element. The amount of processing necessary to allow a detector for each process would be far too great for current processor capabilities, if done correctly. The 5.1 Buss Compressor does not include gating and and expansion, but as an additionally has a Sub Filter section. Oxford Inflator No matter how limited and crushed program material already is, the Inflator will provide even more loudness. It will even add apparent volume to a full scale white noise signal, or add musicality to previously clipped signals.  The Inflator was developed in response to requests from mixing and mastering engineers who are required to compete on the basis of the overall apparent loudness of their final results. Its capable of producing much louder mixes without without overloads or compression pumping. Since it is truly a real-time process, there are no time constants involved, as would be the case with limiters and compressors. For the same reason, there is absolutely no chance of losing presence or the flattening of percussive attack. Used more subtly, it can add natural warmth and character to acoustic or jazz mixes. Use it on single instruments to add presence, softness and depth, or use it on percussion and drum tracks to produce amazing dynamic presence, tightness and volume. The full dynamics of the program is largely preserved but with an increase in the average modulation density. A further aspect of enhancement provided by the Inflator involves the creation of warmth reminiscent of good 'tube' or 'electronic valve' systems. Significant 'musical overdrive' can be achieved working especially well on individual tracks. Oxford Limiter The Oxford Limiter has been developed from decades of professional audio experience to provide a very high degree of quality and facility in program loudness control and limiting functions. By employing highly accurate logarithmic side chain processing, along with innovative adaptive timing functionality using look ahead signal acquisition, the limiter provides exemplary performance, whether one is seeking general transparent level control, program loudness maximization or heavily applied artistic sound effects.  Unique processing in the form of the Enhance function provides the sample value limiting needed to reliably avoid overloads in digital workstation environments and allows unprecedented volume and punch to be applied to program beyond that available from conventional limiting functions.  Comprehensive metering is provided which displays not only conventional peak sample value, but additionally allows the user to monitor the true validity of the program in order to avoid the generation of damaging reconstruction overloads in the target equipment which are often invisible during production (sometimes termed 'inter sample peaks').  A further function allows the user to dynamically correct for reconstruction overloads in real time, thereby achieving maximum possible modulation levels without the risks of producing illegal signals often associated with compression and limiting. Comprehensive dithering functionality with selectable and variable depth noise shaping ensures first class mastering output quality in either 24 bit or 16 bit modes. Oxford SuprEsser The Oxford SuprEsser is both a very highly-featured professional De-Esser and a Dynamic EQ. There is a simple mode for quick fixes, but also an advanced mode for increased functionality and fine-tuning. The combination of an intuitive FFT display and three listen modes enables the user to easily see and hear exactly where the problem frequencies are, allowing the rapid reduction or removal of the offending audio. As well as being able to trigger the full band compression, only the offending frequencies can be carefully carved out. Since the SuprEsser can operate at all frequencies, ‘plosives’ and other annoyances can also be removed effortlessly, making it more than a simple De-Esser. Additional features include Automatic Level Tracking, Linear Phase Filtering and a Wet/Dry blend control for final balancing.
