Description

Excessive resonances ruin mixes, giving them a harsh and unpleasant sound. RESO helps you identify which specific frequencies are causing problems. It also guides you on how much reduction is needed to dynamically resolve the resonance without making your mix sound thin.

RESO is a dynamic resonance suppressor that helps you quickly identify and resolve resonances in your audio.

Problem Solved: Excessive resonances ruin mixes, giving them a harsh and unpleasant sound. Our plugin RESO helps you quickly identify and resolve resonances. The smart features help you get the best possible sound by dynamically fixing the problematic resonances without making your music sound thin.

Get Started: Load up an instance of RESO on any channel and listen closely for resonances. The display, frequency sweep, and -calculate targets- features will help you identify resonant frequencies. Double click anywhere within the main window to create a node. Position the node where you want the resonance suppression to start. The Q is automatically optimized for the frequency of the node. You can scroll to adjust the Q to suit your preference.

Highlight 1:The Calculate Targets feature will analyze your audio, find the resonant frequencies, and give you -Target Nodes- showing how much reduction is suggested to transparently resolve the resonance.

Highlight 2:RESOs super-transparent mastering-grade filters allow you to clean up resonances without affecting your transients and phase

Unique Plugin for a Unique Task

Being able to select which frequencies and the bandwidth was a factor for me and which I really liked about RESO especially in comparison with other plugins. Sometimes you know there is just that specific frequency you want to suppress but don't want to suppress a whole bunch of other frequencies which could end up making the end sound be garbling and such. The "Calculate Targets" features definitely is a great helping hand in conjunction with using your ears. At times it may calculate targets that you don't want to be affected so using your ears as many have said is always the route at the end of the day. I haven't extensively compared this to just using a dynamic EQ however I believe RESO does it differently--well, at least I have had better results using it. What I would like RESO to have is an "Undo" and "Redo" feature and to be able to enter in the specific frequency you want rather than just sweeping/double-clicking. I'd give it a 4.5 but unfortunately I can't! >_<

Other than that, RESO is a great tool in suppressing and taming resonances when you run into less than ideal recorded tracks. A unique plugin for a unique task.

    Mastering The Mix Reso

Great tool for fixing static resonant frequency problems. Simple to use and the calculate targets is handy to get started. It can be a chore sweeping for resonant frequency's, for a small price this will save you time.

    Works great!

Sometimes you have to turn off some of the nodes Reso suggests, as the resonances are are part of what makes the instrument sound the way it does. But it’s as great tool!

Why Didn't I Get It Sooner

RESO has been making it's way onto just about every track since I got it free with the excellent Fuser. I already have Soothe but was surprised how useful RESO is when Soothe can't tackle the resonances. Sometimes I use them together.
